Online Programs for Seniors

With Mill Woods Seniors Association and other seniors organizations closed during COVID-19, we still want seniors to stay active, while staying safe. While there are many fitness videos available online, this page focuses on regular & live programs,  hosted by Edmonton seniors centres, where you can interact with the instructor and other participants.

Zoom Live Meeting Etiquette

  • Join early – up to 5 minutes before the meeting start time
  • If you haven’t used Zoom before, click the link to download Zoom prior to the day of the meeting and familiarize yourself with any features you may need to use on the day–mute/unmute microphone, stop/start the video, screen share, etc.
  • Have your video on, unless you are experiencing connection issues
  • Find a quiet space without interruptions and background noise
  • Don't do anything on camera you wouldn't do in a class full of people. Keep your clothes on and try not to point the camera toward private rooms in your house
  • Adjust your camera to be at around eye level if possible; take note of the angle of your laptop or phone screen
  • Mute your microphone, when not talking, and remember everyone can hear you!
  • Try to avoid talking over and at the same time as other participants
  • Be aware you are on camera and try to avoid doing other tasks, checking emails, looking at your phone, etc.

MWSA acknowledges that the land on which our facility rests is Treaty 6 Territory, a traditional meeting ground for many Indigenous Peoples, including Plains and Wood Cree, Assiniboine, Salteaux, Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), Métis, Nakota Sioux, and Chipewyan. Their spiritual and practical relationships with the land continue to create a rich heritage for our community. We are deeply honoured to share this land.
